The Cirque de Moureze

Moureze is a quaint town surrounded by some of the most unique landscapes in the region. The Cirque de Moureze is one of the oldest “Grand Sites” of France. The limestone rock has been carved and sculpted by erosion creating unusual rock formations resembling fairy chimneys. The terrain is full of short and sharpish hill climbs so it can be challenging but also very rewarding. Keep your eyes open for the mountain goats that often cling to the side of the rocks along the route.

The Cirque de Moureze is a popular stop on many of our day rides and cycling holidays, partly for the scenic quality of the route itself and partly because Moureze is such a postcard perfect place to stop for an after-ride refreshment.
