Pezenas is located about 40 km’s from Montpellier airport in the heart of the Languedoc vineyards.
From April, the spring temperatures of the Mediterranean climate are warm, rejuvenating the fields and vineyards in a profusion of colour and providing ideal cycling weather. The months of July & August are sunny and hot. Combining a morning or evening ride with a relaxing day at the beach or enjoying the many attractions of the area is a great way to make the most of the day. Cooler temperatures begin to return in September allowing for longer rides. The autumn is a fascinating time to cycle through the vineyards and watch the grape harvest in action and take in the stunning changing colours of the Languedoc.
There are many quiet routes to cycle through the rolling hills of the Mediterranean plains or, for the more adventurous, challenging climbs are within an hour’s ride. After a day’s ride, relax at one of many fine restaurants and lively bars in Pezena’s medieval town centre.
With over 300 days of sunshine per year, Languedoc-Roussillon is ideal for cycling most of the year.
