The “Parc naturel régional du Haut-Languedoc” is a regional natural park located south of the Massif Central. The park comprises a stunningly diverse range of countryside and scenery for cycling. It provides a habitat for more than 240 species of birds and now also provides a home for mouflons, a species of small wild mountain sheep which was recently successfully reintroduced.
The region provides a wealth of road cycling opportunities. There are many quiet routes through the rolling hills of the local vineyards as well as much more challenging climbs within the Réserve Nationale de Chasse de Caroux-Espinouse and the Montagne Noire.
Appreciated by keen road cyclists from around the world, the Haut Languedoc is featured on many of our cycle tours including our Haut Languedoc: Vineyards and Garrigues tour which is dedidated to exploring its rugged landscapes.
