Fitting and frame-sizing

Many riders underestimate the difference a good position can make to the performance and comfort. At Vie et Velo we offer a range of bike-fitting and frame-sizing services using a combination of proven bike-fitting processes to identify the most efficient and comfortable ride for each individual. We aren’t married to a single “system” and as such offer a more complete and accurate bike fitting process with measurable outcomes.

Our fitting services

Includes the positional setup of one bike. We take static bike fit measurements based on your own bike or using an adjustable fit bike to replicate any geometry or position.

How will you benefit?
A Level 1 fit will help you to better understand the geometry that suits your riding style and identify a comfortable, efficient position. This type of fit can help in the selection of a new bike or provide general guidance to set-up an existing bike.

Outcome:
• Mechanical set-up of your current or future bike to the recommended geometry
• PDF report of the recommended geometry.

Includes the positional setup of one bike. A Level 2 fit looks at the every aspect of a rider’s anatomy, strength, flexibility and interaction with the bike.

For the Level 2 and 3 fits, we use the Retul 3D motion capture technology to conduct a dynamic fit ensuring the most accurate level of fit available. Whether using your own bike or the adjustable fit bike, Retul enables accurate measurements of rider motion while pedalling under realistic loads. 3D tracking allows measurement of all significant body angles and frontal plane knee motion to be measured to accuracies of less than 1 mm.

For more information on the Retul system go to the Bike-Science website

How will you benefit?
A Level 2 fit will help riders looking to optimise their position for best comfort and power output, whether you are struggling with a persistent injury or simply purchasing a new bike

Process:
• Flexibility and lower limb anatomy assessment
• Placement of the infra-red LED’s on key joints
• Baseline measurement of current riding position from both right and left side to check for imbalances
• Review results and begin making adjustments based on judgements by the fitter and feedback from the rider
• Repeat adjustment and measurement process until:
• Fitter confirms that the rider’s position sits within the recommended angle ranges
• Position suits the riders: body type, riding style, injury history and race goals
• Rider is both comfortable and powerful

Outcome:
• Precise set-up of your current bike or future bike
• A detailed PDF report which can be used to replicate the position on any similar bike

Includes the positional setup for two different types of bikes (same rider)

How will you benefit?
The Level 3 fit is ideal for a rider looking for an optimised fit for TWO different types of bike (ie. road, time trial/triathlon or MTB).

Process:
• Identical to the Level 2 fit
• Additional time allows fitting the rider to more than one style of bike

Outcome:
• Precise set-up of your current bike or future bike
• A detailed PDF report which can be used to replicate the position on any other similar bike

Includes the positional setup for two riders with one bike each:

How will you benefit?
A Level 4 fit is a collaborative experience for two riders looking for an optimised fit on a single bike each (i.e. road, time trial/triathlon or MTB).

Process:
• Identical to the Level 2 fit
• Additional time allows fitting two riders

Outcome:
• Precise set-up of your current bike or future bike
• A detailed PDF report which can be used to replicate the position on any other similar bike
