2 Canadians + 2 cats, a smattering of French, 8 bikes and 1 big dream
= Vie et Vélo.

Bruce and Denise decided to make France their home in 2014 and founded Vie et Vélo to share their passion for French lifestyle and cycling with visitors to the Languedoc region. Two years later we adopted a puppy (so I guess we intend to stay) and are now expanding our tour options to neighbouring Provence.

Based in Caux, Herault we aim to cater to all levels of cyclists from the timid beginner looking to explore the region in a more intimate way to the serious competitor looking for a new challenge. We offer independent cycle hire, guided or self-guided cycle tours as well as bespoke bike fitting and custom built bikes.

Our Team

Bruce Baird
Bruce Bairdpassionate bike nut, relentless hill climber, Retul bike fitter, husband
Bruce has been involved in road, and mountain biking since the late 80s inspired by the 1986 Tour de France battle between Greg Lemond and Bernard Hinault. Bruce has a particular interest in biomechanics and is a fully certified Retul bike fitter.
Denise Hands
Denise HandsBrompton fanatic, organiser, wine lover, support vehicle driver, wife
Denise has commuted back and forth to work for more than 20 years on 2 wheels. Before meeting Bruce, cycling was merely an economically and environmentally friendly form of transportation. Now cycling has become a way to explore the world.
ZeldiHappy go lucky dreamer, feather chaser, all-round feline extraordinaire
Joining the family from Battersea cat shelter along with her sister Ciara in 2010, Zeldi is self-appointed post-ride entertainment co-ordinator. Her antics will always rejuvenate the spirit even after the most gruelling ride.
CiaraHungry reality checker, grumpy but always loveable lap cat
Ciara is relaxation personified. Unlike her extroverted sister Zeldi, she can be slightly timid at first. But don’t let her haughty persona fool you; her love of good lap time will almost always prevail.
EmileKing of the mountain, cheerleader and support car companion
Emile is the latest addition to our team, joining the company and the family in 2016. He has quickly earned himself the honour of most enthusiastic traveller. He welcomes every guest with undiminished excitement each and every time.
